Book tip: “Everything feels” by Andreas Weber

Stefan, forum reader and writer, sent me this book tip with his description:

“A. Weber is a special biologist, because he is not “only” a scientist, but also a philosopher – someone who thinks holistically and transforms the mechanistic world view of the old sciences into a living, i.e. a feeling one.
He writes that feeling equals life and that life in a body is only made possible at all by this – even the smallest single-celled organism feels – every cell must feel so that it can make a choice at all as to what it lets in and what it does not.

If you consider that nowadays so-called “farm animals” are still treated as objects and not as sentient living beings, you need not be surprised at the brutalization of people and its consequences.
The way we treat nature, from which we cannot detach ourselves because we are a part of it and live with and from it, will also be different if we become aware that every creature – whether human, animal or plant – has a fundamental (equal) right to live, because it is a living organism just like us.

In this respect, I believe this book can pave the way for changing people’s consciousness – in every respect – and thus make a contribution to peace in the world – and of course within themselves.”
